The Shams Gate District (or the Gate District) is one of the smallest communities in Al Reem Island. It is named after the iconic Gate Tower complex that is located at the heart of the community. Comprised of four complexes all constructed by Aldar, and all interwoven so that one can get around all four compounds without ever having to step outdoors, this community has taken residential and commercial convenience in Abu Dhabi to a whole new level.

The Shams Gate District is made up of the Sky Tower, the Sun Tower, the Arc Tower, and the Gate Tower. The Sky and Sun towers were erected on top of a mall (Shams Boutik) and are one of the oldest buildings of Al Reem Island. Residents of the Gate Tower and Arc Tower also enjoy easy access to the mall by virtue of an overpass connecting both complexes to the retail center. Furthermore, several parks, the Reem Hospital, and the Repton School are all a very short walk away from this petite, but cozy sub-district.
